do I register?
If you are applying from abroad please post, fax
or email us your
enrolment form
with your details together with proof of payment. When we receive these, we will
send you a confirmation letter.

What do we offer?
At London
Empire Academy you can enjoy free Internet access, convenient study hours, a
self access centre and library, help with opening a bank account and advice
about living in London, internal exams and progress tests, registration with a
doctor/dentist, and educational and social activities with your fellow students.

Wireless broadband all over
the Academy, you can connect to the internet anywhere in the Academy
from your wireless-enabled
laptop.

Should I bring any materials to class?
Yes. For
every class you need your course book, a notebook, and pens. It is also
recommended that you bring a dictionary (English-English) to help with
vocabulary. Students are required to buy one course book per term and should
allow £15 to £20 per term for materials.

What do the tuition fees cover?
The tuition fees cover: teaching, placement and assessment, student library,
self-access centre, computer facilities, and welfare support. The tuition fee
does not cover the costs of any additional courses, travel, books, stationery,
photocopying, accommodation or living costs.

Where do the students come from?
Our students come from all over the world.

How
do you measure
my level?
On your
first day, you will be given a written placement test to assess your level of
English. You will then be given an oral test to check your level of English
communication.

|
What time are the classes?
We are
open from Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm. Our General English classes are
offered all day: morning, mid-day and afternoon.

Can I choose what time I study?
Your class
time will depend on your level and the levels that we have running when you
apply. Please contact the school for further information and our current
schedule.

Can I change my study time?
You can change your class time only if there is space in a class of the same
level.
|
|
|
Can
I change my level when I want?
If you want to change your level you must speak to your teacher and the
Director of Studies at the school.
|
|
|
Can I start my course whenever I like?
All of our General English courses begin every Monday. You are welcome to start
your classes on any Monday throughout the year.

|
Can I take private, one-to-one lessons?
Yes! We offer private
lessons of different types and lengths. You can choose to have isolated
lessons or book a series of private classes. You can choose from one to
three hour classes. You can choose the type of private class – General
English, IELTS, Business English, FCE, or a specialised topic (subject to
availability). You can also choose to study privately and combine your
studies with any of our group classes.
If you
wish to have private lessons, please contact the school for further
information as all private classes must be booked in advance and are subject
to availability.

How
many weeks should I study?
This really
depends on the level you are at and the level you would like to achieve. Every
student is different but generally it takes around 15 weeks or two hundred hours
of study to move up to the next level.
