Welcome to London Empire Academy School of English & Business

London Empire Academy is recognised by the UK Agency Borders as a Licensed Sponsor under the new Points-Based System.

SPONSOR LICENCE NUMBER 68B3HKFV5

English Course in London,Health Care in London,

Will I be eligible for free NHS health care?
If you are on a course of study that lasts six months or more, you are entitled to free health care from the National Health Service (NHS). You may register as a patient with an NHS doctor, known as a GP (General Practitioner), and with a dentist. If a doctor prescribes a course of medicine for you, you may have to pay the prescription charge and you may have to pay for dental treatment.

If your course of study is less than six months and you are not from a country that has a reciprocal health care agreement with the UK, then you are not entitled to free health care from the National Health Service (NHS) and you will need to take out private health insurance to cover the cost of any treatment.

If I am sick what should I do?
First, ring the Academy to let us know that you are sick. When you are well, come to the school and provide the Director of Administration/Welfare Officer with any documents relating to your sickness, eg Doctor's Certificate.

Remember: your health is important to us. Go to the nearest GP and seek advice whenever you are ill. It is very important for you to register as a patient with an NHS doctor (GP). Also, we also strongly advise you to take out travel and medical insurance.

In all instances, it is your responsibility to inform the Academy if you are not going to attend class.

If you do not  provide the Academy with any documents relating to your sickness we have to mark you “absent”.

If I have a personal problem, who can I talk to?

The Academy believes a student's happiness is the most important thing of all and we will do everything that we can to take care of students with problems. Wherever possible, if required, we at the Academy will make available a Counsellor who will be able to speak with you in your own language and discuss any private issues or concerns that you may have. Do not hesitate to come and speak with us, we promise that your privacy is important and we will not tell anyone else.
