Visa UK, English course in London

Do I need a visa?

Students coming from outside the European Community will need a visa to study in the United Kingdom. Usually, you must apply for your visa at a British embassy or consulate in your own country. Citizens of certain countries (non-visa nationals) are not required to obtain a visa before coming to Britain - they can apply when they arrive at the airport. However, they are not guaranteed entry. The entry clearance process for the United Kingdom is run by UKvisas through the British diplomatic posts around the world.

In order to qualify for a student visa you must show that you are enrolled in an educational institution, and that you will be taking a full-time weekday course involving 15 hours (or more) of organized daytime study per week. You must also be able to show that you can support yourself while you are living in Britain.

Additional information about visas may be obtained by contacting the British Consulate or High Commission in your country. Alternatively, you can visit the Home Office on the net.

Can I reapply  If my visa is refused?

Yes, you can apply again.

Can I extend or renew my visa?

You can do so if you enter the UK with a student or prospective student visa, you will need the FLR(S) form which means 'further leave to remain as a student, you should extend your 'leave to remain' 4 to 6 weeks before it finishes .The Home Office will charge a fee to process your applications to extend permission to stay in the UK. The fees are £250 for an application made by post, £500 for an application made in person. All international students applying to extend their stay will be subject to the charge each time they apply.  for more information click here

Note : Students coming from outside the European Community are required to attend regularly and have at least an 80% attendance rate.

Can I bring family with me?

Spouses and children are allowed to enter but, again, you have to show that you can support them.

If I am refused a visa can I get may money back?

If a student is refused entry into the United Kingdom or Leave to remain in the UK a refund will be given less £100 registration fees. However, the Academy must be notified in writing and the original documents issued by the Academy and the letter of refusal from the home office or the British Embassy must be presented at least one week prior to the commencement date of the course.
