Homestay
(Host Family)
A
student living with a British family in their home is called a homestay. It
is the best choice for English students as they can interact with the family
and participate in daily family activities – all in English! Students are
encouraged to participate in family tasks, from shopping to playing
football! Homestays are challenging but beneficial for anyone wanting to
experience real British living.
Host families provide
all the home comforts you need – food, linen
(towels and sheets), washing and ironing
facilities, and a furnished room for you to study and relax in.
When
you arrive at your homestay, your family will explain the rules of the house
so your stay can be successful and fulfilling. Students are expected to
follow the rules and be responsible, (always keeping your room clean and
tidy and buying your own soap, toothpaste, toothbrush and shampoo).
